Habitat Improvement:  Artificial Burrow Installation

RAIN DELAY...the weeklong heavy rains have made the ground unsuitable for burrow construction. We are in the process of rescheduling and will post the details as soon as possible.  Please check back or contact us for details.

JOIN US!  The Friends of East Bay Owls and the Burrowing Owl Preservation Society will be installing artificial burrows at the Prewett Ranch Family Park in Antioch, CA. The site is home to Antioch's 24.5 acre Burrowing Owl Preserve and it is our goal to install 6 artificial burrows before the 2010 breeding season begins in February. Declining habitat and increased development have resulted in the need to provide shelter for displaced burrowing owls in Antioch and throughout the Bay Area.

So if you are willing to get dirty for burrowing owls, spend part of your weekend actively conserving an ailing species, and volunteer your time and shovel then please RSVP via email to FOEBO(AT)FriendsofEastBayOwls(DOT)org.  We are looking for 10 willing participants to join our efforts.

Where: Prewett Ranch Family Park in Antioch, CA

Address:  4701 Lone Tree Way Antioch, CA
Time: 11am
Date: TBD - Project is delayed because of heavy rains

What to Bring:  Shovel, Appropriate shoes and clothes, Lunch/Water
